Refund Policy
The short version
We want you to be happy with Oaken Notes. If you're not satisfied with your Pro subscription, you can request a full refund within 30 days of purchase — no questions asked.
30-day satisfaction guarantee
All Oaken Notes Pro subscriptions come with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you subscribe and decide Oaken Notes isn't right for you, request a refund within 30 days of your initial purchase or most recent renewal, and we'll process it in full.
- Pro Monthly ($9.99/month) — refundable within 30 days of any charge
- Pro Yearly ($79.99/year) — refundable within 30 days of any charge
Free tier
Oaken Notes offers a generous free tier at no cost. Since there is no charge for the free tier, no refund is applicable. You can use it indefinitely without providing payment information.
How to request a refund
You can request a refund in two ways:
- Email us at [email protected] with your receipt or transaction ID. We'll process your request within 2 business days.
- Paddle customer portal — if you purchased through our website, you can manage your subscription and request a refund directly through the Paddle customer portal. You'll find a link to the portal in your purchase confirmation email.
If you purchased through the Mac App Store, refunds are handled by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
After your refund
Once a refund is processed:
- You retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period
- Your subscription will not renew
- After the billing period ends, your account reverts to the free tier
- Your meetings, transcripts, and notes remain on your Mac — nothing is deleted
Payment processing
Payments for subscriptions purchased through our website are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all billing, payment processing, tax compliance, and refund disbursements on our behalf. Refunds are issued to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider.
For subscriptions purchased through the Mac App Store, Apple handles all payment processing and refunds according to their policies.
Refunds after 30 days
If more than 30 days have passed since your charge, we evaluate refund requests on a case-by-case basis. We understand that circumstances vary, and we'll do our best to find a fair resolution. Contact us at [email protected] and we'll work with you.
Cancellation
You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future charges but does not trigger an automatic refund. You keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period. To cancel:
- Website purchases — use the Paddle customer portal (link in your confirmation email)
- Mac App Store purchases — manage your subscription in System Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions
Governing law
This refund policy is governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, consistent with our Terms of Service.
